The History of PolyPavement

PolyPavement’s Natural Soil Pavement technology was developed in the USA by ECO-Polymers in 1989.

In the mid 80's ECO-Polymers pioneered the development of a revolutionary technology that aimed to transform natural soil into an all-weather, abrasion-resistant wear surface using high-performance polymer binders. By applying principles such as soil particle void filling and advanced soil solidification techniques, ECO-Polymers created a product capable of producing paved roads that could support heavy traffic at a fraction of the cost of traditional asphalt or concrete pavements.

In 1989, ECO-Polymers submitted a soil solidifier known as ECO-CF Soil Binder to the the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to conduct independent testing and evaluation of the ECO-Polymers soil solidification technology. These rigorous tests confirmed the material's durability, load-bearing capacity, and suitability for diverse environmental conditions, further validating its use for road construction, military applications, and erosion and dust control. It quickly gained attention for its exceptional performance in both pedestrian and vehicular applications.

Following this validation and growing industry interest, ECO-Polymers evolved into PolyPavement, consolidating our brand and further developing our product for the landscape construction market. The merger of research, field testing, and practical applications led to the development of the commercial-grade PolyPavement formula used today—an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and high-performance solution for natural soil paving.

PolyPavement is the original soil solidifier trusted by many landscape professionals and architects for its durability, safety, and natural aesthetic. From public parks and nature trails to commercial walkways and private driveways, PolyPavement continues to set the standard in natural soil pavement. Its proven performance and environmental advantages have made it a preferred choice in projects around the world..
